A WEEK OF BEAUTY

LAS ÁNIMAS ("THE SPIRITS")

A WEEK OF BEAUTY.  A forty-peso water taxi from Boca de Tomatlán to las Ánimas ("Spirits") to swim in the calm, clear water and lunch at el Coral, my favorite restaurant there.  A walk on the malecón, passing numerous sculptures and rock art on the beach below.
A drive south on the curving coastal road to the exotic Quinto del Sol nursery in las Juntas y los Veranos

"CORY" RESCUED AND ADOPTED
ADOPTIONS:  Janice and Terry Parker, visiting from Victoria, B.C. intended to not only volunteer at a PEACEAnimals clinic, but to adopt one or two small dogs, preferably Chihuahuas.  As our vet team, Pets for Life, is now in Oaxaca for two weeks,  Janice and Terry spent a half-day volunteering at the Acopio.  I was able to give them leads on two rescued male Chihuahuas, “Cory” and “Axel.”   Dr. Tamayo had been caring for eight-month old Cory, and Laura Gelezunas had rescued and fostered Axel, an almost blind,  ten-year old.    I put the Parkers in touch with Patty Marchak of Mexpup.  The Parkers will fly home on November 23rd with the two Chihuahuas plus two rescued Mexpups dogs.  Stars in heaven for the Parkers.

The three-month old black female Terrier mix abandoned at the beach in Boca de Tomatlán.  Karla de la Peña reports that two hikers adopted her.  The puppy´s photo was in last week´s blog.
