HAVE YOU SEEN THEM SING AND DANCE?

The Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guadalajara performed at Teatro Vallarta on Thursday night.   At least four dozen beautifully costumed dancers and singers performed on the stage, while a dozen musicians played on a “balcony” above them.  The men in their black charro suits and sombreros danced athletically and with exciting stamping of their black leather boots. The women in dazzling traditional dress swirled around the stage like exotically beautiful butterflies.  The music and dances from different regions were authentically Mexican and provoked ecstatic whistling,  joyful whoops and shouts of “Viva Mexico” from the thrilled audience.  I don´t know a country in the world that has more romantic or more sensual music.

MÉXICO LINDO Y QUERIDO – BEAUTIFUL AND BELOVED MÉXICO.

With clinics at least an hour away by car, I have missed and will miss attending them until January, when the team will be back in the area of the Bay of Banderas (Puerto Vallarta)

Below is a quote from Malcolm Macartney DMV of  McKenzie Veterinary Services in
Victoria, British Columbia. Canada

"For the past four years teams of veterinarians and animals health technicians from my veterinary practice in Canada have been volunteering at free community spay and neuter clinics put on by PEACE Animals in the Jaltemba Bay area. These clinics are extremely well organized and enable a large number to pets and strays to be sterilized in a very efficient and cost effective manner. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of care, the technical skills and compassion for animals shown by every member of the PEACE Animals team.  Their work provides an enormous benefit to the communties where they work and is making a huge difference to the lives of the animals and people of this part of Mexico."
DONATIONS:

Shelley and Gerry Rapp:  $250 USD
Ralph Osborne - $500 USD
Debie Stuart - $200 USD
Ross Shapiro - $100 USD
Christine Thorsen - $100 USD
Geoffrey Seymour - $165 CA
Ana Sarmiento – 300 pesos (10% of sales of her product, “Pets Go Wild” at La Cruz Saturday market.

Ana is also donating 20% of product sales at the “Funny Bones” fundraiser for PEACEAnimals in La Cruz on December 3rd www.petsgonewildmexico.com

At Amy and Bill Welch´s great Thanksgiving celebration with 80 guests, five antique masks and one antique pot were sold from Gerry Rapp´s gem of a gallery, Galería 200 in Puerto Vallarta.  Ten percent of sales were given to PEACEAnimals clinics = $118 USD.  Gerry made it an even $150 USD.

Amy is treasurer of PEACE and has been an invaluable help to me.  I couldn´t have done my job without her assistance.  Amy created and manages the website, does the accounting, helps me with grant applications, computer programs and answers all my questions, no matter where she is.

$3,000 USD MATCHING GIFT donated by Brischa and Ted Borchgrevink:  Approximately $1,420 USD  has been raised since the SOS went out a week ago.  Saturday night I received an email from Robin and Bill Tennis,  confirming their joining the board of director of PEACEAnimals.  Their $3,000 "give or get" dues are being mailed next week to Amy Welch in Portland.  Matching gift has been met and clinic will now have $6,000 USD added to our account!

As Christmas approaches, please consider gifts of spay and neuter in lieu of something wrapped in a pretty box.  So many of us have everything we need.  Homeless animals don´t.

SECOND MATCHING GIFT!!!  I was joyfully surprised by the offer of a $10,000 matching gift by a couple who prefer to remain anonymous.  This extremely generous donation will pay for 6.5 clinics, sterilizing approximately 600 cats and dogs.  This number has a huge impact on the future births of unwanted pets.   We don´t want to lose this opportunity to help the difficult situation here in Mexico. PEACEAnimals is now $8,615 USD from meeting this second matching gift.   PLEASE DONATE!!!

MILAGRO AND HER 8 PUPPIES ARE NOW IN A FOSTER HOME.  AHORA ESTÁN EN CASA PUENTE.

Note:  Milagrosa was removed from the Acopio shortly before giving birth because newborns have difficulty surviving there-  The parvo virus can live up to two years and there are sometimes outbreaks of distemper.  A couple of dozen young puppies die every month at the acopio because their immune systems haven´t had a chance to develop.
